Jason Derulo won’t be Ridin Solo anymore with the arrival of a mini-me, Jason King Derulo!
Yes, his first child shares his name – or really, his stage name, as his real name is Jason Joel Desrouleaux. Taking to Instagram to announce his arrival, Desrouleaux (let’s go with this to refer to Jason Sr.) shared a clip of him and “strong caring hero of a mother” Jena Frumes.

Frumes, meanwhile, shared a glimpse of the couples first week with Baby Jason, revealing that Jason King Derulo had in fact arrived on May 8th. Along with the series of images, the 27-year-old shared:
“A glimpse of my first week with our healthy handsome little king ??? Life now has so much more meaning & I am so grateful. I’m so so so in love with this little boy he’s everything I never knew I needed??”
The Savage Love singer confirmed the happy baby news on March 28th, sharing a video montage of himself and Frumes, well into her pregnancy with the couple’s first child.

Last August, Jason opened up about his blossoming relationship with the YouTuber and revealed it was love at first…workout. Telling Page Six about how they met, the 31-year-old singer shared:
“We met at the gym. We met at Equinox. We both have a similar desire to work out all the time, and I had seen her there once before. The second time, I was like, let me go talk to her. And the rest is history.”
While the Lifestyle singer hasn’t really delved into the details of when he and Frumes first started seeing each other (he says it was at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, so early 2020), the pair have been posting Tik Toks together (by interesting, I mean really cute #couplegoals type stuff, ya know?) for over a year. Naturally, the singer says, he started doing a lot of thinking during the pandemic and realised that he was “getting to that age” where he was starting to think about becoming a father. Speaking to Drew Berrymore on her show, he shared:
“I think I’ve done so much in my life, right? And I’ve been able to accomplish a lot so at this point in my life I’m like, ‘Okay, now who do I share it with?’ Also, there [are] no men to carry my name. My brother had all girls, my sister had girls, so there’s no more Derulos, like I needed to make it happen because somebody’s got to carry the name.”
