today19 May 2021

Amidst the current attacks on Palestine by Israel, model Bella Hadid has been actively using her star power and status to stand up for her people by joining protest marches as well as utilising her platform on Instagram where she has over 42.5 followers.Β

However, not everyone is on the same side with her pro-Palestinian efforts.Β

Due to her good looks and amazing body stature, it’s no surprise that she has inked a variety of endorsement deals with so many famous brands. Currently, the half-Palestinian model is signed with a famous, luxurious makeup brand and has constantly been featured in their advertisements and campaigns.Β Β

But with the divide between Palestine and Israel, fans seem to be divided as well.

Hadid was featured on an Instagram post of the makeup brand in late March, endorsing their foundation. Haters began leaving disgruntled comments about how they will cease to buy products from the brand, and voicing their disappointment over the company’s professional ties with Hadid.

Some other comments include:

  • β€œNot buying from you when you’re paying a terror organization supporter.”

  • β€œIf she [represents] you I will never buy your products!”

  • β€œShame on you”

Hadid’s sister, Gigi, has also been accused of being anti-semitic. The fellow model responded on Instagram by commenting,

Β β€œI condemn anti-semitism. β€˜I’ am not trying to kill you, nor would I ever want that,” she wrote. β€œI do not wish any more deaths upon Israelis, just as I feel about Palestinians. What I do want is equal rights for Palestinians.”

Neither Bella Hadid nor the brand has responded to the criticisms and comments.
