It’s been 17 years since they’ve sat around Monica’s apartment… and yet, it’s like they never left.
As we inch closer and closer to the day we get to see ‘The One Where They Get Back Together’, HBO Max has released a two-minute trailer that’s enough to get me bawling. Different from the first, brief teaser – where all we got to see were the backs of the six cast members – the new one is just… it hits you in the feels immediately. From the iconic fountain to The quiz night (yeah, you know the one), the cast is seen hashing out old debates (were Ross and Rachel on a break??) and reenacting old scenes. Familiar faces pop up – Maggie Wheeler as Janice Hosenstein, Tom Selleck as Richard Burke. Can the 27th of May BE any further away????

In case it’s been too long… where did we leave Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey?
The show began in 1994 and ran for 10 seasons, until 2014. The group meet in a little coffee shop called Central Perk, and end in Monica’s apartment. While Rachel starts out as a rich runaway bride she ends with a successful, independent career in fashion and a mother to Emma (the daughter she shares with Ross). Ross, on the other hand, starts off newly divorced but soon gets into other relationships – the most important (in my books, at least) of all is the one he has with his sister’s best friend, Rachel. Ross’s “on-again, off-again” relationship with Rachel means we got to see his son (who he shares with ex-wife Carol) interact with soon to be mommy herself, Rachel. Clean and competitive Monica may have started alone in her way-too-spacious apartment, but by the end of the 10 years, she and Chandler have adopted twins (a boy and a girl) and are ready to move to the suburbs. Chandler starts off as a man who loves freedom in his personal life, as he doesn’t have quite as much in his boring, corporate job (what does he do again??). But falling in love with Monica changes that, and we see their relationship and characters grow through it. Joey, on the other hand, went from being the adult child of the group to leaving New York for L.A. to pursue acting – with LeBlanc starring in the ‘Friends’ spinoff show ‘Joey’ for two seasons. And Phoebe, ah, Pheobe… The One With The Toughest Childhood and yet doesn’t show it (except in the most random, monotonous lines that no one expects). She starts off alone – like the rest of them – has some of the most memorable relationships, and settles down with boyfriend Mike (aka Paul Rudd).
Will we see Paul Rudd again? Well, already set to appear are BTS (in a very, very brief moment, let’s add), Cara Delevigne, David Beckham, Kit Harrington, Malala, Justin Bieber and more.
