Our man turns 40!!!
One of Hollywood’s most reliable fixtures of two decades, Chris Evans has had a super impact on the film industry. From playing not one but two superheroes (Captain America, Captain America from the MCU franchise and Human Torch in Fantastic Four), a vigilante who stands on the same side as four crime-fighting turtles (Casey Jones in TMNT), the funny but psychopathic family outcast (Ransom Drysdale in Knives Out), and the sweet uncle fighting for custody of his gifted niece (Frank Adler in Gifted), he has proven his versatility and become a household name — yet still remaining as humble as ever.
Let’s take a look at some of his (other) most iconic roles yet!
1. Lucas Lee (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, 2010)
If you haven’t seen this film, you’re sorely missing out!
This flick is hilarious as much as it is action-packed, and follows a young man (played by the ever-adorable Michael Cera) as he fights to defeat his girlfriend’s seven evil exes, who, unfortunately for him, includes Lucas Lee played by Chris Evans (Captain America) and Todd Ingram played by Brandon Routh (Superman). In fact, there’s also Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) somewhere in the mix.
Poor guy.
2. Curtis (Snowpiercer, 2013)
One of his darker, grittier roles to date, this one is gut-wrenching, suspenseful, and full of action. His character, Curtis Everett, rebels to fight the elites in the name of humanity, and does everything within his power to stand up for the poor and defenceless.
Fun fact: this film is directed by Bong Joon-ho, the same man who gave you Parasite.
3. “Harvard Hottie” (The Nanny Diaries, 2007)
If you’re up for a romantic comedy-drama, then this is the one for you! Starring long-time best friend and fellow Avenger Scarlett Johansson, she plays a nanny to a poor little rich boy and his neglectful mother. She also dates “Harvard Hottie” (played by…you guessed it!) while juggling her responsibilities as a mother figure, and you will be sure to root for them and their family dynamics throughout the whole film!
