Less than a week into 2021 and already it’s full of surprises.
The latest in Hollywood romances has seen two names trend all over social media: that of actress and filmmaker Olivia Wilde and former One Direction member turned solo singing sensation, Harry Styles. And whether you decide to take it at face value or call it wilde speculation, it seems that the pair may be an item. While neither one of the A-list stars have addressed the speculation, TMZ has labelled them as “very much together”.
But what exactly sparked the rumours? Well, it was what the 36-year-old actress and the 26-year-old British singer were doing with their hands that put them in this harry situation:
Yeap, they were holding hands!!! Not in the way you’d hold your wayward little sister or nephew but in the fingers-interlaced-one-person-leading-the-other way. Sources told PEOPLE that the pair had been in Montecito, California to attend the wedding of Jeffrey Azoff, Styles’ manager. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a select number of people were in attendance – and Styles brought Wilde as his plus one. The two were apparently…
“… affectionate around their friends, held hands and looked very happy. They have dated for a few weeks.”
Hold up – for a few weeks?!
Of course, this could only mean that the pair hit it off following Wilde’s choice to replace Shia LaBeouf with the ‘Golden’ hitmaker. For context, Wilde has been in the directors’ chair for her upcoming psychological horror film “Don’t Worry Darling”. The film is set in the 1950s, with Florence Pugh and Harry Styles in the lead roles alongside Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and KiKi Layne.

It was recently revealed that Wilde had ended her engagement to screenwriter Jason Sudeikis, with whom she shares two children: a son, Otis, born in 2014 and a daughter, Daisy, born in 2016.
