Jacob Elordi Wants You To Stop ”Obsessing” Over Nate From Euphoria

Listen here girls, Jacob Elordi just warns us about his famous character Nate, from HBO’s Euphoria. In a new interview with W magazine, he calls the character all sorts of names, including an “emotional terrorist,” and he’s not wrong.

Jacob chatted with W about the show’s success and how he got cast as Nate in the first place, saying that scoring the role of Nate was a fairly standard experience for an actor. According to Jacob, Nate didn’t have a lot of depth at first. “Honestly, the first thing that I read were audition sides, and he was really just a macho college *sshole,” he said.

“He was abusive and drinking and yelling at people and throwing his chest around. I had no idea of the scope or the depth that was to come.” Throughout the show’s first season, we see Nate catfishing Jules and blackmailing her, beating up a guy who allegedly went on a date with his ex-girlfriend Maddy and stalking Maddy, as well as dealing with hidden secrets about his father. While we get touches of humanity from Nate throughout the season, he’s not a great guy, and Jacob knows it. “He’s an emotional terrorist, a narcissist, a sociopath, a freak. All those things,” Jacob told W.

This isn’t the first time Jacob has talked about the less-than-great aspects of his characters. He’s previously spoken about his Kissing Booth character, Noah, who he thought was “kind of awful,” and why portraying the more outwardly-twisted Nate was preferable. “It’s almost like righting my wrongs a little bit too, because the character in The Kissing Booth is awful and it’s never really explained,” Jacob said at the time. “He’s kind of idolized and made into a hero, so I suppose this show is showing why.”

He also wants fans to know that he doesn’t enjoy hearing that they find the ultimate toxic alpha male Nate attractive. “It’s so scary when you read that stuff. It’s bad, it’s so bad.” Yeah, girls (and boys) it is very very very unhealthy and terrifying when you glamourise these kinds of characters. Find a good one, kay?

The Galaxy Buds Pro released alongside Samsung’s latest line of Galaxy S21 devices, and is meant to be Samsung’s proof that it can compete with some of the best true wireless earbuds in the market, including Apple’s AirPods Pro and Sony’s well-received WF-100XM3.
