Jason Momoa Was Broke After Season One Of Game Of Thrones

Believe it or not but celebrities can through financial struggles as well.


Jason Momoa who played the iconic character Khal Drogo in season one of cult favourite TV series Game of Thrones recently revealed that he was broke after his character was killed off in the first season itself in 2011. The show is arguably one of the most famous TV shows of all time but Jason Momoa didn’t really get to ride that wave of success.


The 41 year old actor recently revealed that while his co-stars went on to become famous and successful; he didn’t get the same opportunity what with his character being killed off so early on. In an interview with InStyle he said “I mean, we were starving after Game of Thrones,” adding, “I couldn’t get work. It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt.”

After being killed off in season one of the HBO series; he struggled to make payments for his in Topanga Canyon which is located near Los Angeles where he lived with his fellow actress wife Lisa Bonnet and their two kids 13 year old Lola and 11 year old Nakoa-Wolf.



His financial struggles eased about 5 years later when he was cast as the iconic DC Comics character Aquaman. He starred as Aquman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2017’s Justice League and 2018’s Aquaman.




Looks like celebrities aren’t so different from us after all.
