Haters gon’ hate, but Josh Duhamel ain’t backing down.
Recently, the ‘Jupiters’ Legacy’ star revealed that he sent Armie Hammer an email after replacing him in a movie called ‘Shotgun Wedding’, where he will be acting alongside Jennifer Lopez. The casting swap happened in February as a result of Hammer stepping down due to the allegations made against him regarding violent acts and…cannibalism.

Upon accepting the role originally held by Hammer, Duhamel decided to reach out to Hammer via email.
“I know Armie a little bit,” he said.
He explained,
“And when I knew I was gonna get the part I emailed him and said, ‘Listen, I know you are going through it right now, I don’t like to get roles like this and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and good luck, get through it.”
The 48-year-old revealed that Hammer responded immediately.

“[Hammer] emailed me right back and said thank you.”
He continued to say,
“So who knows, hopefully he gets through it.”

This unleashed fury from fans who called him out for seemingly supporting Hammer despite his alleged misconducts. Despite the backlash, Duhamel stood by his decision in reaching out to Hammer. In a DM conversation with an angry fan, he explained that,
“I don’t support any of his behaviour, but I choose to believe people can learn from their mistakes and grow. I don’t believe in cancelling or casting people aside because I don’t believe in what they do.”
He continued,
“I pray the guy gets the help he needs.”
The fan then responded,
“I understand what you’re saying, but he is being accused of rape and physical abuse towards multiple women. I would hope you ‘don’t believe’ in what he does because it’s horrible and disgusting. I feel for his victims, not him.”
