Wow, Kanye West is officially the richest black man in US history with over $6.6 billion (£4.7 billion) net worth in his bank account. This means Kanye has overtaken legendary basketball player Michael Jordan and businessman Robert Smith, and even Jay Z—and the estimates come just three years after Kanye claimed he was £38 million in debt.

However, his brand Yeezy made Kanye a certified billionaire in 2020 after he signed a 10-year contract with retail outlet Gap in June 2020 – and the collaboration line is thought to be worth £694 million. As well as this contract, Bloomberg estimates Yeezy affiliated partnerships are worth up to £3.4 billion. As the only owner of Yeezy, this is where most of Kanye’s net worth comes from.

Kanye also has a stake in Kim Kardashian’s Skims label which contributes to his fortune. Although, with Kim’s own net worth being estimated at $780 million (£560 million), the pair’s divorce is slated to be one of the most expensive in history. Kim filed for divorce last month after seven years of marriage as the pair have reportedly spent ‘little’ time together in recent months with Kanye spending most of his time at his Wyoming ranch and Kim staying in Los Angeles.
