I mean…
Neelofa is still the talk of the town. Unfortunately, she is rather… infamous… what with all the (multiple) SOP breaches.
Now, the entrepreneur and her husband, Muhamad Haris (PU Riz), were called to attend court yesterday for two allegations: not scanning the MySejahtera QR Code and not wearing a face mask when she was at a carpet shop in Nilai recently. However, both of them pleaded “not guilty” to the allegations, and as such, the next preceding will take place on the 4th of June.
After that information was released to the public, Malaysians found somethign else to question – a matter that is of equal importance. Photos of Neelofa at the courthouse were released, with many questioning why Neelofa was not seen wearing a face mask.

“Not wearing a mask is one thing, another is we can see the figure of her nose.
Tak pakai mask satu, nampak pulak bentuk lubang hidungnya ?

The fact is that the Director-General of Health, Noor Hisham Abdullah has addressed this issue before, saying that women who wear the niqab are also required to have a face mask so as to riduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus. However, Neelofa was seen only wearing a purdah – one so thin that the silhoutte of her nose and mouth could be seen. This fueled assumptions that she was not wearing a mask behind the veil.

This incident sparked frustration among netizens as it made it look as if the entrepreneur was taking the MCO SOPs lightly.
