Ever since she released her new memoir—’’The Meaning of Mariah Carey’’—Mariah has been very vocal about most stuff, especially things that are bothering her the most. And recently, MC opened up about her encounters with racism during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, telling Andy Cohen that her son, Moroccan, was recently bullied by a white supremacist. A group that, horrifyingly, the President of the United States refuses to condemn.

The 50-years-old mother of two told Andy Cohen that she’s been reading her memoir, to her kids to help them understand her own experiences with racism. “Certain chapters I’m reading to them that are helping to illustrate my encounters with racism, and how they can then have a greater understanding, and ultimately a greater reservoir with which to deal with the situation itself,” she said, via Entertainment Tonight. “By the way, Rocky just got bullied the other day by a white supremacist person that he thought was his friend. It’s like, insane. So, this is the world we live in.”

The RnB queen further explained that her experiences with racism have “been a struggle for me since I was aware that there was such a thing as race,” and said she was bullied by a group of girls as a child—which she recently told her daughter Monroe about. “I let her hear that,” she said. “And it was really sweet, she goes, ‘Mommy, those girls, they feel so bad now. I bet they wish they could be your friend.’ It was so insightful for a 9-year-old girl to be able to say that.”
