The posting by Michael Ang caught mass attention from his followers as well as participation when many showed interest in the competition for the cash prize. Despite the government not implementing a full lockdown, many have suggested for Malaysians to do their own self lockdown following the rapid rise in cases, including the Director-General of Health, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. This statement has gotten support and also backlash as many have expressed that they could not afford to do so, including actress Janna Nick.
