The new boy group NCT-Hollywood, which will be curated fresh off the upcoming K-Pop competition floors, will be the latest subunit of SM’s hit “concept” group NCT – who can be combined into various subunits: NCT 127 (Seoul-based), NCT Dream (originally a teen-only group) and WayV (China-based). The competition will be opened to all individuals, from ages 13 to 25, aspiring to be part of a K-pop group in America.
The contestants however will be brought over to South Korea and will be trained at a K-pop Bootcamp at the SM campus, which will feature heavily on the series wherein each episode, they will compete in dance, vocal, and style tests and will be judged and mentored by SM founder Lee Soo-man as well as various current NCT members.
Soo-Man Lee and SM Entertainment have developed numerous K-pop stars over the years and are known for creating the Korean wave, otherwise known as Hallyu, with artists such as H.O.T., BoA, Super Junior, Girls Generation and more.
