The Weeknd finds redemption with 16 nominations for the Billboard Awards after being snubbed at the Grammys. This makes him the leading nominee at the awards. Other nominees includes DaBaby and Pop Smoke.

The Weeknd is up for 16 nominations, including top male artist, top R&B artist, top Billboard 200 album for After Hours and top Hot 100 song for Blinding Lights, which was the number one song of last year.

DaBaby is right below him with 11 bids, thanks to his own hit Rockstar and his appearance on Jack Harlow’s What’s Poppin. He will contest himself in categories such as top rap song, top streaming song and top collaboration.
The Weeknd felt he was snubbed at this year’s Grammy Awards, even though he had the number one song of 2020, Blinding Lights, which is now up for Top Selling Song alongside BTS’ Dynamite.
Fans have been thrilled to know that the Canadian singer has been nominated, saying that deserves it, and arguably deserves all of them.

K-pop sensation BTS clenched four nominations at the awards, which will be held on May 23. They are competing for honours in the Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artiste, Top Social Artiste and Top Selling Song categories.

Controversy has also been made known with the six nominations for disgraced country singer Morgan Wallen, who was banned from the recent Academy of Country Music Awards after a video surfaced of him using a racial slur.
Despite his nominations based on the chart performances the country singer will not be allowed to participate in the show.
The Billboard Awards are an awards ceremony based on the chart period of Mar 21, 2020 through Apr 3, 2021. Two of the 51 categories are fan-voted, including top collaboration and top social artist, where Asian acts dominate. Nominees include K-pop groups BTS, BLACKPINK and Seventeen; Filipino boy band SB19; and Ariana Grande.
The Billboard Awards is set to be held on Monday 24th May at 8am GMT.
