Too afraid to think outside the box?
Donald Glover returned to Twitter after quite the hiatus with a series of tweets addressing ‘boring’ films and TV shows.

He proclaimed that the people’s fear that they would get canceled has resulted in the creation of below-par arts.
saw people on here havin a discussion about how tired they were of reviewing boring stuff (tv & film).

Donald, who is better known by his musical stage name Childish Gambino, is the writer, creator, and occasional director of the multi-Emmy-winning FX comedy “Atlanta.” Tweeting a late-night thread, Glover said he was responding to discussions he saw people having on the social media site about being bored of “reviewing boring stuff”.

We can assume two situations here, as the tweets are quite ambiguous; First, he could be referring to the traditional sense of being canceled, where networks and executive boards call off a show of film due to low ratings. The other meaning could be the “cancel culture” notion by society today.
Merriam-Webster defines the term as “to withdraw one’s support for (someone, such as a celebrity, or something, such as a company) publicly and especially on social media” particularly after they have displayed objectionable opinions or actions.
While we don’t exactly know what the 37-year-old actor meant by that, it may be a wake-up call for productions to step up their game in producing quality entertainment for the public, rather than the same old same old concept over and over again.
