“Shame on your children for having a mom like you”, Vivy Yusof Responds To Haters With Grace

today1 November 2020

Background

Vivy Yusof has had a rollercoaster of a year – the mother of three, Malaysian entrepreneur and the co-founder of FashionValet and The dUCk Group has faced multiple allegations of plagiarism, numerous calls to be cancelled as well as fights against those slandering her name. However, as it turns out, Yusof is facing more hatred behind the scenes than we know.

It all started with 32-year-old Yusof innocently sharing her respect and veneration for Prophet Muhammed in conjunction with his birthday on the 29th of October. Taking to her Instagram stories, she shared,

“His dad died when his mum was pregnant so he never met him. His mom died when he was small. Then his grandpa took him, he too died shortly. What a childhood.”

However, not long after, Yusof shared the response of a troll who tried to pick at her for her post. The netizen remarked,

“You never knew is it?”

As if that weren’t enough, Yusof went on to share another barrage of belittling – and downright abusive – messages from a separate netizen. Sharing that messages like these were a daily occurrence for her, she questioned the “mental health of our community”. The messages read:

“You are a really mean f***t*** i ever known. You deserve all the hates you get. Shame on your family. Shame on your children. For having a stupid mom like you. Dumb rich people. At least have an emphaty laa stupid f***,”

In the original screenshot of the message above shared on her Instagram story, Yusof covers the username of the sender but not the profile picture. The sender of the hate-laced messages above is another woman and while we are not shown why or what the woman is berating her for, the mention of Yusof’s family is a low blow. Despite this, Yusof merely asked that people who were faced with similar hate from outsiders to respond with nothing but goodwill.

“Just a reminder to all that we need to treat each other with positivity, the world doesn’t need more hate. If ever you get these kinds of msgs, never reply with more hate. Never wish bad on them. Just [pray] for both you and them.”

After the images started circulating on social media, netizens have expressed divided opinions. While some echoed her sentiments, others believe she deserves such harshness.

“Not a fan of vivy yusof, but positivity should be spread,”

“Haa, that’s good for you,”

“Ciee.. Ciee.. Ciee.. She’s good at religion now. I thought she didn’t know [religion]. showing off here and there. arrogant with other people. When trashed.touching on religion.like she’s good.”

“Try to be nice to her once in a while.”

“Screen shot full conversation la..there must be a reason why that person is so angry..”

“Don’t involve her children. It’s not as if they can choose what kind of mother to be born too. And they’re still small. If you want to trash someone, trashing her alone is enough.”

Yusof, who shares three young children with husband Dato’ Fadzarudin Shah Anuar (better known as Fadza), is currently juggling motherhood, her business as well as her own individual growth.

She also recently announced her plans to pen a memoir detailing her experience (successes and mistakes included) in conjunction with the 10 year anniversary of FashionValet, sharing:

With all the learnings from my first decade, I feel like I should write a book! So many achievements, so many mistakes, so many stories I haven’t told. Entrepreneurship is a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, and I’m about to enter the second decade of this awesome ride. Ride with me?”
