Shawn Peter Raul Mendes is the Canadian heartthrob that had the world in the palm of his hands overnight. With ‘Stitches’, ‘Treat You Better’ and ‘In My Blood’, Mendes managed to become one of the five artists before the age of 18 to debut at number one, the third-youngest artist to achieve three number one albums and the first artist to land three number-one singles on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart before the age of 20. And now, he’s about to add to that list with a whole new album. He tweeted,

As it turns out ‘Wonder’ is the name of the title track of his new album as well as the name of the album itself. Taking to his social media, Mendes shared both a link to an interactive website and a trailer — complete with backtracking from the song’s “Intro”. The website shows what looks like a “set list” on the floor – probably aluding to the tracks on the upcoming album. There is also a phone number for fans to subscribe to for updates.

In a handwritter letter, Mendes shared with fans,
“It really feels like a piece of me has been written down on paper and recorded into song. I tried to be as real and as honest as I’ve ever been. It’s a world and a journey and a dream and an album I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time.”
With how heartfelt his message is, it’s ‘wonder’-ful that we won’t have to wait long to hear the title track at least! It is set to drop on the 2nd of October, while the whole album will be available from December 4th onwards.

His girlfriend and fellow ‘Senorita’ duet partner – Camila Cabelo – also took to her social media to share her support for Mendes. She shared the trailer alongside the sweet caption,

Eagle eyed fans initially noticed that Mendes had had ‘Wonder’ tattooed on his arm, allegedly in Cabello’s writing. Soon after, fans that searched for “Shawn Mendes – Wonder” found that the site lead to a page with a broken link alongside the description, “Lyrics for this song have yet to be released. Please check back once the song has been released.”
The 2nd of October couldn’t come sooner!
