Proud to be Malaysian! After almost 18 years ago, Amir Kadir migrated to Kuwait to expand his career wing in the field of fashion. Now, his designs have ‘’wrapped’’ the bodies of international celebrities including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey.

Few days ago, twitter user @ahmadcashfy tweeted a thread following how Taylor Swift chose Amir’s designs as her ‘’go to’’ 1989 album tour costume. Given Amir’s accomplishments, it was not a surprised—he once had his own boutique in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, and produced a lot of local celebrity clothing too before migrating to West Asia, including Datuk Seri Normala Samsudin, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and Ziana Zain.

“I brought myself to the country of people in the hope of wanting to change. I see the fashion world market in Malaysia is quite limited to certain designs only,’’ he said in an interview with mStar online some years back. “That is why I made a surprise decision to find a new experience and Alhamdulillah… for my efforts as a result of my design began to be seen at the international level,” he concluded.
Amir further explained that the process of producing the clothes was quite complicated when his party had to go through several conditions first, namely having to prepare a sketch of the clothes he wanted to produce before being evaluated by celebrities themselves. Later, after the dress is ready, Amir needs to record a video of the shirt worn by a model before it is shown to the artist’s representative. When the celebrity like Taylor Swift and JLo agrees with the dress, they will post the dress to the artist management in Los Angeles and they will make an assessment.

The 56-years-old designer also said, ‘’When I see famous stars showcasing my designs on the red carpet, on stage or in magazines, there is a feeling of satisfaction in my heart. It is also a benchmark for me to produce more high quality designs.’’ YAS! Love this for him!
