What a Monday!
It was the most highly anticipated boxing event for months. With media coverage and additional hype from fans on social media, the Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul showdown was expected to be a thriller to watch.

But it appeared that many were disappointed, which is what happens when you set high expectations for a match between the greatest boxer of this generation who released little energy in an exhibition against a social media star who essentially has no experience in the professional sport.
The match that was opened with a performance by the hip hop trio “Migos” started off cautious, with both sides not revealing all of their cards too quick. But slowly you could see both of them throwing legit punches at each other.

Unfortunately, those ‘legit punches’ were all we were fed for entertainment as the showdown saw no knockouts. In fact, some even said that Mayweather left the match ‘unscathed’, indicating that they were expecting major damage in the exchange.
Mayweather came and left unscathed, millions of dollars richer and everybody else mad he didn’t knock the clown out?
its an exhibition, K.O or not it wasn’t supposed to be serious— . (@N444SC) June 7, 2021

This viewer even said whoever paid to watch the match deserved to get scammed.

Logan’s brother Jake, however, was convinced that the YouTuber won the match, immediately tweeting after the 8th round.

Mexican professional boxer Canelo Alvarez who has faced Mayweather before during his younger days (his only loss), seems like he did not enjoy what he just witnessed.

The fight even heard booing at the final bell. Why? Maybe they were expecting something more for what they paid. But if they wanted to see that, Luis Arias and Jarrett Hurd delivered it two fights prior to this big showdown.
If you’re asking a quick question on who actually won the fight, this viewer has it summed up for you.
They both won. Whoever paid to watch. Lost

American rapper “Lil Yachty” who also watched the match was very direct with his thoughts.
Nah @Showtime I need a refund

Should we be mad that it wasn’t an intense, jaw-dropping match? Absolutely not. After all, this was done purely for entertainment, rather than for the reputation of the professional sport. Let’s not forget the memes as well.

The jokes aside, both icons were still professional after the showdown, sharing compliments between each other.
