Out of all the Kar-Jenner Klan, it is obvious that Miss Kylie has the most expensive taste—even before motherhood. The youngest Kardashian-Jenner is no stranger to majorly up her collection of luxury goods.
Having heavily documented her mother-daughter designer wares on Instagram, the beauty mogul has once again managed to drown us in our own envy. Recently Kylie gave us a tour of her purse closet. She showed us an extensive collection of designers and proved where her hard-earned dollars were going.
“This is pretty much where I keep all my purses,” she said. “I made a little room in my house and I did this all custom so they all could have a little home and be lit up really pretty.”
Her favourite section of the purse-filled room? “My favourite row would have to be the Hermès row,” said Jenner, explaining she’d been collecting them “for a minute”, and considers them “a great investment.”
And a great investment they certainly are. With the average retail price for Hermès’ cult Birkin Bag currently ranging from $13,100-$18,300 AUD—depending on its size, material and specific detail—Kylie has some major value sitting on her well-lit shelves. Not to mention that buying a Birkin bag is now recognised as a better investment than buying gold.
But surprisingly, the most expensive bag in her Hermès collection isn’t a Birkin, but rather the highly-sought after Niloticus Crocodile Retourné Himalaya Kelly Bag. “This one… is really special,” she said of the bag. “If my house is on fire, I could take this one out of all of them if I could only choose one.” And we totally understand why.
According to luxury auction house Christie’s, the Himalaya Kelly is said to be the rarest handbag in the world, with the Diamond-encrusted version of the bag having recently sold for over $500,000AUD at auction. Although we have no indication of what Kylie’s actual bag is worth, we’re going to guess it isn’t cheap.
Another of Kylie’s Hermès-specific favourites, which she touted as the most “unique and cool” bag in her collection is the limited-edition Dalmatian Birkin, which is currently valued at approximately $28,000AUD. She also notes the ‘So Black’ Birkin as one of her top picks, which recently sold at Christie’s auction for almost $33,000 AUD.
As for which Birkin daughter Stormi will eventually inherit, the 23-year-old said her fuchsia Hermès Mini Kelly will likely go to her. “Kourtney gave me this, which I think is super cute,” she said. “This one I’m definitely going to let Stormi wear, probably, when she says ‘Mummy, I want to wear a purse.'” Just like the rest of her Hermès collection, this mini purse has quite the price tag attached to it, currently valued upwards of $20,000 AUD.
So, if our purse closet calculations are correct, the entrepreneur looks to own a total of 13 Birkin Bags, and 10 Kelly bags. Just how much value does that amount to? You do the maths…
