Sufficient excuse?

Celebrity entrepreneur Neelofa who has been at the top of the charts of scrutiny for breaking the law has defended her side following a viral video of her getting into a car with three others.

The entrepreneur whose full name is Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor was caught on camera leaving the Seremban district police headquarters and entering the backseat of her car with her husband, PU Riz. Her lawyer was then seen riding shotgun with their driver.

This made the public question the rules as the recent Movement Control Order allows only three people in a single car to help curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Neelofa released a statement on her Twitter following this backlash explaining that her lawyer needed to travel a short distance from the Seremban police headquarters to the next-door courthouse.

“We only gave him (the lawyer) a ride from the police station to the courthouse next door, with a distance of 50 meters. my lawyer’s vehicle was parked in the courthouse parking area. My lawyer and I did not come to the police station with the same vehicle…”

She further stated that she informed the details to authorities at the police station.

However, this gave room to netizens to further question the entrepreneur. Some even accusing her of admitting to breaching the SOPs, asking why the four-person car trip was even allowed in the first place.

This user said: So you admit to breaching SOPs ye. Doesn’t matter if it’s 50m or 5000m, Breaching is still breaching.

Activist Fahmi Reza even showed proof that the distance Neelofa stated could be false.

But of course, Neelofa still has her fans to back her up. This user said: Be patient sis, it’s normal. You can’t satisfy everyone.

Other complaints towards the celebrity included how they were given a space to park inside the courthouse area while others had to park further away.
