Zayn Malik is not holding back his thoughts any longer, as he is livid! The singer slammed the Grammy Awards with a seemingly random scathing tweet, nearly four months after the 2021 nominations were announced.
“F— the grammys and everyone associated,” he wrote. “Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations. Next year I’ll send you a basket of confectionary.”
Unfortunately for the 28-year-old singer, he was not nominated at the 2021 Grammys, which airs this Monday, as his album, Nobody Is Listening was released at the beginning of this year before the deadline for the 2021 show. Fans also revealed Malik, prior to that, released the Icarus Falls album in 2018. Neither album was nominated for both years. Sounds a little fishy… if you ask me.
However, his former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles is up for not one, not two but three awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album. Malik, who welcomed a daughter with longtime girlfriend Gigi Hadid, is definitely not the first performer or artist to have to call out the Recording Academy, for the years of snubs and some may racism.
Following his snub for the 2021 awards show, The Weeknd claimed the organization and show “remain corrupt.” Drake later defended his long-time friend in the industry The Weeknd saying the Grammys “may no longer matter.”
