Following ‘Cult’ (season 7), ‘Apocalypse’ (season 8), and ‘1984’ (season 9), the theme for season 10 of ‘American Horror Story’ has been revealed! Following months of teasing on his Instagram account – with clips of a weather-dependent Provincetown setting, a disturbing contortionist, as well as a teaser with a wide-open mouth lined with razor-sharp teeth and a hand that seems to have tattooed “AHS 10” on the tongue – Ryan Murphy has again taken to his account to reveal the theme for his award-winning horror anthology series.

“The title of AHS 10 is ‘Double Feature’. Two horrifying stories…one season.”
The two stories have been dubbed “One by sea,” and “one by the sand.” Season 10 will see the return of Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Meanwhile, Macaulay Culkin (‘Home Alone’) and Spencer Novich will be making their ‘AHS’ debut this season. In a little sneak peek into their characters, Paulson told EW that her character in season 10 has “some issues” and she gets to wear a unique wig, while Wittrock went on to call his role the most “normal” he’s ever had on the series. As for Culkin’s role, Murphy himself has called it a “very, very great, insane part.”

Initially scheduled for release in the fall of 2020, ‘AHS’ season 10 will instead drop sometime this year. Murphy, working alongside fellow ‘Glee’ creator Brad Falchuk, had initially expressed his concern over the direction for season 10. Murphy had said that the new season of the show, which scored an extension of up to season 13 on FX, was very “weather-dependant”.
“Well, I don’t know, because a lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one.”
Looks like he may have found a solution with the dual storylines?
