The pandemic held up last year’s fan-voted accolades, so MTV decided to air ‘Greatest of All Times’ instead where they honoured Gal Gadot, Sarah Michelle Gellar and the late Chadwick Boseman. But this year, the MTV Movie and TV Awards are back and the contenders for the 2021 ceremony are insane. From Marvel to DC to Netflix, there’s something for everybody! ‘WandaVision’, ‘Emily in Paris’, and reality show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ lead this year’s nominations for TV, while ‘Judah and the Black Messiah’ and ‘Promising Young Woman’, lead the film nominations.Â

Fans can wield their voting power across 25 categories which include Best Kiss, Breakthrough Performance, Best Show, and more! The ‘Best Show’ category boasts multiple fan-favourites such as the romantic ‘Bridgerton’, the action-packed ‘Cobra Kai’, the whimsical ‘Emily in Paris’, and superhero shows ‘The Boys’ and ‘WandaVision’.

For Best Performance in A Movie, talented stars like Carey Mulligan, Chadwick Boseman, Daniel Kaluuya, Sacha Baron Cohen and Zendaya up for votes!
‘WandaVision’ appears four more times for Best Performance in a Show (for Elizabeth Olsen’ performance as Wanda alongside Anya Taylor-Joy’s portrayal as Beth in ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ and Elliot Page’s Vanya in ‘The Umbrella Academy’), Best Hero (for Teyonah Parris’ Monica alongside Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and Anthony Mackie’s portrayal of Sam Wilson/The Falcon in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’), Best Villain (for Kathryn Hahn’s brilliant performance as Agatha) as well as Best Fight (for the final showdown between Wanda and Agatha).Â
Reality TV fans get a chance to vote for their favourites too, from ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’, ‘Bling Empire’, ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’, ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ and more!Â
