Our local films may not all be well-known around the world, but they will always hold a special place in our hearts. It’s just how we work, we are very proud and loyal people, when it comes to unity and patriotism, we’ve got each other’s backs, always! Over the years, many local films and TV dramas have been flooding streaming platforms with a wide variety of different content, most of which are some Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Singapore.
And thanks to streaming sites we’ve been given the luxury to sit back and relax while watching our Malaysian movies. From action-packed films to heartwarming stories, its time to discover new local films or revisiting our fave classics.
1. Munafik (2016)

The film depicts Adam, a Muslim medical practitioner who is unable to continue with his job and accept the reality of his wife’s death. After he meets Maria, unsettling things start to happen. A supernatural horror film directed by legendary Syamsul Yusof. It was his ninth film as well as his second horror film after Khurafat and also the first film in a planned Munafik trilogy.
