Watch out, Cruella de Vil is in town!
Oscar winner Emma Stone has transformed into a younger version of the iconic role of 101 Dalmatians villain in Disney’s highly awaited Cruella movie. The actress will portray Cruella de Vil circa the 1970s, and the film will delve into her life before she went terrorizing the puppies of London, as was shown in the 1961 animated original film, 90s kids it’s #ThrowbackThursday for us.
Stone spoke about shooting Cruella in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, at the premiere for Zombieland: Double Tap and she had an interesting choice of words to explain “It’s pretty trippy. It’s wild,” she said, adding that she regularly found herself thinking, “This is bananas,” while on set. The actress did appear at Disney’s D23 convention prior to the trailer’s release to unveil a first look at the movie, which saw her next to several Dalmatians and sporting Cruella’s iconic black-and-white hairstyle. As fans of the Easy A actress would recall she is indeed currently pregnant with her first baby.
However, the real catch is fans were quick to point out the similarities in both the craziness and tone, with many dubbing Cruella “Disney’s Harley Quinn.”
