Alright, so being single on Valentine’s Day isn’t ideal, but these movies might help relieve the sting from being alone on the holiday that is centered around being in a relationship.
1. Get Out
Sometimes, you need a reminder on why it’s okay to not get too invested in a relationship. Like this Jordan Peele’s horror film from 2017 shows how complicated and terrifying a relationship can be. Oh, and before you decide it’s time to meet your partner’s parents. Think again.
2. Gone Girl
Love does kill. Gone Girl explores not only how men are largely lame, carnally driven losers, but that women can also be psychopaths. So it’s an equal-opportunity indictment of human beings and the idea that they can enter into partnerships.
3. The First Wives Club
In case you need a nudge that ‘’nothing lasts forever’’ check out this classic 90’s flick starring Goldie Hawn, Diana Keaton and Bette Midler. They played three recently divorced wives that were determined to get their revenge after their husbands dumped them for younger models.
4. He’s Just Not That Into You
Okay, this movie is packed with some brutal-truth advice and quotes that cut deeper than knives. But hey, everyone needs a reminder. ‘’If he’s not calling you, it’s because you are not in his mind’’, ‘’If a guy is treating you like he doesn’t give a shi*t, he doesn’t give a sh*t!’’ Ouch!
5. Legally Blonde
What’s a better way to serve revenge if not in a snazzy pink cardi? After getting dumped by her boyfriend, Elle Woods decided to gain admission into Harvard law and uses her perm knowledge to crack a major case. Now, who needs a boyfriend?
6. Pretty Woman
This movie will allow you to be more optimistic about love, I guarantee it. If a millionaire can fall in love with a prostitute, then I’m sure you will find someone special soon. Be patient, never settle for less.
