Marvel has dropped yet another treat for fans with the release of Eternals trailer!
Eternals follows a group of superheroes who have been inhabiting the Earth while remaining undercover, blending in with common folk. The trailer opens with Skeeter Davis’ ‘The End of the World’ (fans would recognise it from Netflix’s series ‘The End of the F World’).
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Sersi asks Ikaris, as the two watch the Earth, hinting at their duties of protecting the world from harm. The celestial beings have been quietly helping humanity progress without direct interference, until a bigger threat, the Deviants, come into the picture.

The last part of the trailer depicts the Eternals in a domestic superhero family dynamic as they enjoy a meal together. Fans would find that the shot calls back to the Avengers’ ‘Shawarma scene’ back in 2012, almost a decade ago!
The trailer concludes on a light note as the character Sprite asks the table about who will take up the role as the leader of the Avengers now that “Captain Rogers and Iron Man are both gone.”
Ikaris responds,
“I could lead them.”
Tension builds for a second before everyone bursts out laughing.
Is that foreshadowing his rise as a leader at some point? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see! Eternal comes out in November 2021 so mark your calendars. The cast also includes Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.
