today26 November 2020

Background

This may not be the crossover that fans are hoping for BUT doesn’t the idea of having ‘The Hulk’ actor Mark Ruffalo and ‘Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds starring side by side sound immensely intriguing? I mean… once you get over the fact that Ryan Reynolds will be calling Mark Ruffalo ‘daddy’.

As it turns out, Reynolds and Ruffalo will be joining hands in a sci-fi adventure film by Skydance and Netflix titled, “The Adam Project”. The plot follows Reynolds character, who travels back in time to help his 13-year-old self. With his younger self, the duo go on a quest to find their brilliant physicist father (Ruffalo), in order to save the future. Other famous faces to slated to join the film is Catherine Keener (who previously worked with Ruffalo on ‘Begin Again’ and ‘Where The Wild Things Are’, and was also in ‘Get Out’). Keener will take on the role of the antagonist, who is said to have stolen powerful technology from Ruffalo.

Psst! In a plus for 2000s kids, Jennifer Garner is slated to play Ruffalo’s onscreen wife (and Ryan Reynolds’ characters mom). This puts the ’13 Going on 30′ former costars and onscreen lovers back together for the first time since the 2004 romantic comedy was released.

Also joining the already impressive cast, are newcomers Walker Scobell and Alex Mallari Jr. as well as Zoe Saldana (who will play the fighter pilot wife of the older Ryan Reynold’s character).

So, not only is the upcoming movie fulfilling a lot of different fan manifestations, it’s also fulfilling the real-life dreams of everyday people. ‘The Adam Project’ will be the first project under Ryan Reynolds’ ‘The Group Effort Initiative’, a self-financed diversity and inclusion program whose goal is to give people of color a chance to work and learn from the actor on his productions.
