Actively producing TV dramas and documentaries on local networks, Datin Seri Nora Shamsuddin – a popular actor from the 1980s – has said that she intends to go back into producing films and is already targeting a film involving Malay history. Despite having to press pause on her career in the arts industry, Datin Nora had set a goal to return to the industry when her children had grown up – and that time has come.
She continued to say that she is also interested in collaborating with Datuk Rosli Yang Daniyan who is the Chairman of the Pertubuhan Harmoni Masyarakat Melayu Perak and will direct a film based on Malacca’s history, Tun Perak. Discussions for this project are still ongoing. Nora added that their side must study this topic further as it involves history and the right props need to be prepared for such a project.
Aside from needing a big expenditure, Nora feels as if it’s possible to prepare for this and will proceed with this project in the near future.

In fact, Computer Generated Images (CGI) will also be used for this epic film besides inviting popular Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for a role.
“CGI will be used in this film. There are a few directors who will show up for their roles. There is a director for the scenes involving silat. We’re also planning to get Shah Rukh Khan to act as a businessman from India.”
When asked about the payment that was offered to the popular Bollywood actor, Nora informed that she would ask for assistance from the Yang Dipertua of Malacca, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam about the issue.
“About the cost of having Shah Rukh Khan, I’m going to ask for assistance from Tun Mohd Ali because Shah Rukh Khan accepted his ‘Datukship’ from Malacca. Even his appearance in the movie won’t be that long, merely a few scenes. I want to show him as a businessman from India. This will be one of the ‘x-factors’ of the film.”
She also suggested the film be aired on National Geographic with the hopes that the entire world will know about Perak’s monarchy – a unique system, non-existent elsewhere in the world. Would you be interested in watching this movie?
