On Feb 24, GSC kicked off the hashtag #ReopenCinemas on social media as an appeal for its outlets to be allowed to function once more. And coincidentally, the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) also issued a statement tonight to confirm that filming and cinemas are allowed to resume in areas placed under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and Recovery MCO.

Cinemas stopped operations in Malaysia in stages since last November, but they reopened temporarily in December only to close again when MCO 2.0 was implemented.
