This wedding takes the cake in the controversial department!
Weddings often come with a huge bill, but one bride-to-be has come under fire wanting to feed her 200 guests one chicken tender each!

In a ‘weddingshaming’ thread on Reddit, Redditor artsygirl recounts the story of a wedding nightmare she heard from the groom’s mother.
It begins with the bride choosing her sister-in-law as her maid of honour, BUT she expects said sister-in-law to pay for her three-day bachelorette party. The sister-in-law didn’t have that kind of money to spare, so the mother of the groom steps in and pays for the weekend (despite the fact that she isn’t invited. But the mother of the bride is!)

So anyway, the mother of the groom isn’t just paying for the bachelorette party — she also booked the church venue, paid for the venue, along with other assorted items while the bride’s parents haven’t paid for anything. The mother of the groom didn’t even get a “thank you”!
“It gets worse,” the Redditor shared. “200 people RSVP’d. The wedding is a week away at this point. While at the bachelorette party, the bride calls up the mother of the groom and asks if she can pick up the food on the day of the wedding. Mother of the groom asks where she’s picking it up from and what it is [sic].”
And it’s just 200 chicken tenders. Oh, and a wedding cake.
“The mother of the groom is beside herself and starts calling around to catering companies to see if she can get anything that resembles a meal in time. One company pulls through. Bride asks if she can SEE THE MENU BEFORE MOTHER OF THE GROOM ORDERS ANYTHING. No ‘thank you,’ [sic]” reveals the Redditor.

Another Reddit user, dreadmontonnnnn, theorised that,
“I have a feeling that the bride pulled the little chicken tender stunt as a scheme to get the mother of the groom to freak out and pay for the food without having to be asked directly.”
This story should be picked up and turned into a comedy movie.
