Background

Recently, a video was uploaded by Malaysian social media personality who claimed to have received ‘’unsatisfactory service’’ from a health worker, went viral overnight.

The incident where he was undergoing a COVID-19 screening test at a medical center believed to be in Tawau, Sabah—received heavy criticism when he claimed that the nurse who took the mucus sample from his nose was so rough that it caused him to sneeze repeatedly. Even more shocking when he called the nurse with the word ‘’b****’’.

The viral video, as expected, angered the public—with most netizens criticizing the actions of the youth who are seen as too rude because they are willing to use such vulgar language to frontline staff. A majority felt that the issue should not become a huge problem because everyone was going through the same screening procedures and techniques.

After facing backlash, the instafamous then took to his Instagram account to explain that he had decided to meet with the two nurses and apologized. The caption read, ”We met up and talked things out together with no other parties involved. I sincerely apologize, to these 2 nurses that I have disrespected. I should be more understanding of how people are when they are working and under stress.”

Errrrrrr, let’s not forget that there is no excuse for disrespecting people — especially healthcare workers and frontliners. Let’s take this as a lesson in humility and never repeat this again, okurr?
