An honest donation doesn’t necessarily have to be in the form of money. It can be about giving someone a meal or cleaning their house.
This post on Twitter also shows a form of donation. Shared by @shahafzan, the screenshots from Facebook show a homeowner deciding to paint all the mailboxes at their residence.

From a rusty old set of mailboxes, every resident now has a fresh coat of paint. Good as new, right?

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the point of the posting. The screenshots show a Malaysian on Facebook who questioned whether the owner asked for permission to paint all the mailboxes, as she felt that not everyone would have wanted their mailbox to be coloured grey.

“Did they ask permission from the owners of each house before painting their mailboxes? To me, you can’t simply paint (someone else’s) mailbox. Not everyone is a fan of a plain colour like that (grey).”
Netizens were furious with her comment.
“First time seeing someone not appreciating something nice and is content with maintaining the ugliness. So stupid”.
first time tgk orang taksuka benda cantik and nak kekalkan keburukan ish ish ish bodoh sungguh

“If someone helps just be thankful. Instead of leaving the mailbox all rusty at least with the paint it looks nicer. It’s not like they painted your whole house. It’s just the mailbox”.
Orang dah tolong tu terima kasih jelah bongok. Daripada mailbox tu hitam berkarat camtu bila dah kena cat helok sikit rupanya. Bukan dia cat rumah kau. Cat peti surat je pun.

However, one viewer explained that this nasty behaviour is common in neighbourhoods.
“People like this is normal in neighbourhoods. My neighbour got angry because my father sanitized the alley area of the house since there was another neighbour who was (COVID) positive. They even went as far as to pray that my father was positive too”.
org macam ni normal dalam tetangga. jiran aku mengamuk sbb bapak aku sanitize area lorong rumah since ada jiran lain yg positive. siap doa bapak aku positive lagi

A fellow netizen quoted the tweet, showing proof that all residents were happy with the paint job, giving their thanks to the owner that planned it.
Nah buat yg kecoh siap suruh buat law laa apa laa. Owner ckp satu blok happy dgn apa yg dibuat. Acah2 woke laa masing2. Anjirr https://t.co/Ma6Y2x6Ri9 pic.twitter.com/GuNWdE5gUl

“Here, for those who are making noise and even telling to make laws and whatnot. The owner said the entire block was happy with the gesture. (You’re) all woke wannabees.”
Let’s be better people and appreciate it when someone does a nice gesture for the community. During difficult times, let’s not single out the positive actions from kind-hearted people!
