It’s no secret that the pandemic has been one of the most isolating experiences in human history. Almost a whole year later, and we’re still dealing with the side effects which aren’t getting any better.

In Japan, pandemic-linked isolation is correlated to the first rise of Japanese suicides in 11 years.

Acknowledging it as a serious problem, Japanese prime minister, Yoshihide Suga launched a cabinet post to alleviate the damage of social isolation.
