Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has agreed to not be paid Royal Emoluments for six months
Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the move was to ease the country’s financial burden as the government continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, reported Bernama.
With that said, the Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will stop receiving Royal Emoluments starting this month until August 2020.
