Yesterday (26 Oct), a helicopter of six passengers including five medical personnel and the pilot crashed in the Bukit Kinta Forest Reserve traveling from Gua Musang, Kelantan.
Thankfully, authorities were able to quickly carry out a search-and-rescue operation to locate the victims due to pilot Captain Fedzrol Norazam’s quick-wittedness, which led him to immediately phoned a friend after the crash to explain what had just happened.

Perak Chief of Police – Chief Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri stated that initial reports suggest the pilot first contacted his friend who was in Ipoh at the time and reported the incident to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
“After the phone call was made, we were able to track down the helicopter’s location, allowing us to commence a quick search-and-rescue operation to locate the victims.”
