A Malaysian mother of three residing in Petaling Jaya was recently caught shoplifting at a grocery store.
Instead of being remanded, the district police chief, Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, paid her a visit and brought her some gifts.
The 36-year-old woman, unnamed, lost her job as a babysitter during the pandemic while her husband has no work. Because of her situation she tried to shoplift some food and fever relief pads from the store.
