As of writing, Lionel Messi’s Instagram post celebrating Argentina’s World Cup win has over 68 million likes.
Not only has it become the most-liked Instagram post, but it has become the most-liked post of any social media platform. Ever.
The previous record of the most-liked Instagram post was held by @world_record_egg, which has 57 million likes. The record was set in 2019.
In fact, the owner of the account, Chris Godfrey, simply wanted to beat Kylie Jenner’s Instagram post of her daughter which garnered 18.6 million likes.
