Universal Pictures has sets new release dates for its forthcoming Illumination films “Minions: The Rise of Gru” and “Sing 2.”
The “Minions” sequel will be scheduled to hit theatres on 2 July, 2021. “Sing 2,” originally set to release in July, will now be out in cinemas on 22 Dec., 2021.
Universal announced last week, “Minions: The Rise of Gru” would be delayed because studios had to be shut down in France over the Covid 19 pandemic.
As a result, the production was not able to complete the film by its original release date 3 July, 2020. But the postponement doesn’t seem to be a bad a thing, considering the there could be a chance that cinemas around the world will be at stall through out the summer due to the pandemic.
