
Everyone knows that sharing Netflix passwords is very common. Sometimes multiple people share the same subscription not only across different devices but across households.
According to an announcement made by Netflix, it looks like the streaming giant may soon charge users for doing just that.
Netflix states that it will be testing two new features in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru which will change how passwords are shared between accounts. There will be an option to add as many as two people to “sub-accounts” at a monthly fee of US$2 to US$3 (RM8 to RM13).
It will also allow people already sharing accounts to transfer profiles and view history information to new sub-accounts.
While Netflix hasn’t explicitly mentioned it, these new “features” may later come to all other regions as well.
