Twitter was abuzz when ‘Black-ish’ actor Tracee Ellis Ross was trending alongside One Direction singer Harry Styles. But why?
A fans account of seeing both the 48-year-old Ross and 27-year-old Styles out on a date has been making its rounds on the internet. Rumours that the two are dating started spreading after the fan’s claims they’d seen Ross and Styles on a date at the Italian restaurant Pace in Los Angeles about “6/8 months ago,” picked up traction. The source, although unverified, confirmed that the pair were on a date after disclosing some of the topics the celebrities had covered. Although the source remains unverified, gossip and rumour mills have been busy dissecting the news as they uncover evidence that the two could possibly be romantically involved.

But how did these two uber-famous individuals meet? As it turns out, in December last year (2019), Ross explained how she ‘met’ Styles on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, in which Ross was the guest to Style’s hosting (he was a guest host). Ross shared how the pair got to talking on Instagram.
“You know, the DMs. Harry started liking my pictures. I was like, ‘Who is this Harry Styles?’ And then I started commenting on your pictures. I was like, ‘When is he gonna perform in L.A.?’ And you were like, ‘This weekend. Do you wanna come?’ And I was like, ‘I do sir.”
While neither of them gave any indication that they were romantically interested in each other – Ross did confess that she was “obsessed with his songs” – the chemistry on set was undeniable!

Neither Ross nor Styles have addressed the rumours, much less confirmed them. However, as always, that hasn’t stopped fans and keyboard warriors from speculating on their romance and finding clues in everything that the famous individuals have done.

The Golden Globe award-winning actress has been linked to several people over the years (while Styles has famously dated Kendall Jenner, Kiko Mizuhara, Camille Rowe and more) but has never been very public about who she is seeing.

Ellis, daughter of iconic ‘Endless Love’ singer Diana Ross, told ABC News in 2017 why she keeps her relationships private:
“I was born into a very public family and so I gained a relationship for myself to what is important … [and] what is sacred in my life. I don’t make a decision [that] ‘I will never talk about my relationships’ or anything like that. That’s certainly not a decision that I’ve made or anything like that, but there are certain things that are sacred to me that are not for public consumption. They are mine.”
Maybe one day we’ll find out if the pair are indeed a couple.
