PDRM Awards M’sian Man For Jumping Into Sea & Saving Vietnamese Woman From Suicide Attempt
A Malaysian man was recently awarded a certificate of appreciation by PDRM for his heroic act of saving a woman from a suicide attempt in Johor.
According to reports, the man, whose name was not disclosed, simply chose to step out around midnight in search for rojak.
A simple quest for a hearty supper turned into a rescue mission within minutes as he spotted a hoard of people including police officers gathered near a beach, and decided to take a closer look.
He then realised that the crowd was overlooking a woman halfway through a suicide attempt.
He stated that she had already been in the water for 15 minutes prior to his arrival, and “was in deep enough that only her head was still above the water.”
Afraid that the situation would exacerbate, and with no more time to waste as officers awaited the rescue team, the man then removed his shirt, jumped into the water and swam…
