Scientists show that face masks only block up to 90 percent of the COVID-19 virus
Just like how washing your hands with anti-bacterial soap only kills 99.99 percent of bacteria, wearing a face mask might not be the best form of protection from the COVID-19 virus.
Scientists in Tokyo performed a test using two mannequins heads in a vacuum chamber. One of the heads was fitted with a tube that shoots out particles to mimic a sneeze or cough. The other had a pump that mimics human breathing.
