Philippines is home to 109 million people. Yet, only 1.5 million of its population would be vaccinated in 2021.
That’s 1.4 percent of Filipinos after the Southeast Asian country struck a deal with AstraZeneca.
According to the Manila Times, Philippines had inked a deal worth 600 million pesos (US$12 million) with British drug-maker in partnership with the University of Oxford to obtain some 2.6 million doses of the vaccines.
