Gender stereotypes. Some of them dictate our interpersonal relationships more than we think.
They usually tend to be things we pick up in our early childhood or what authority figures such as our parents tell us along the way.
They may seem harmless but they still very much exist and push outdated dating rules and gender roles onto couples.
Some of the messages we’ve been told over the years are, men don’t cry, girls do the cooking and cleaning, and men should pay on dates.
