
The launch of Beetlejuice 2 has been widely speculated for over 30 years, and excitement towards the sequel film was fostered once again earlier this year, when it was revealed that Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder would reprise their iconic roles.
Following that, unconfirmed reports of Johnny Depp being cast in the film have also popped up, after Google outlined the actor in the cast along with the two main stars.
The murmurings began following the conclusion of Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against former spouse and actress Amber Heard.

Just like the first movie, the direction and writing for Beetlejuice 2 will be handled by critically-acclaimed filmmaker and screenwriter Tim Burton, who directed box office hits such as Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and Alice in Wonderland. His most recent film is 2019’s Dumbo.
