WHO chief: There is hope for a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 2020

A COVID-19 vaccine might be available by the end of 2020, according to the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

“We will need vaccines and there is hope that by the end of this year we may have a vaccine. There is hope” Tedros said.

According to Reuters, Tedros expressed hope for the vaccine being available by the end of the year at a two-day WHO board meeting.
