Demi Lovato is not here for trolls trying to put a wedge between her and her soon-to-be-husband, actor Max Ehrich. Tweets from her 29-year-old fiance, dating back to 2015 have resurfaced. The tweets – while mainly focused on Lovato’s fellow ‘Barney & Friends’ alum, Selena Gomez – also seem to have Ehrich gushing about other gorgeous faces, including Ariana Grande, Gigi Hadid, and more stars. While these tweets are from before Lovato and Ehrich started dating, fans are not happy with just how sappy Ehrich was in his tweets. Amongst the tweets that fans have unearthed are ones the depict him wanting to marry Gomez, retweets of her images with the heart eyes emoji and the tweet…

It doesn’t stop there. It appears that in an Instagram Live session, Ehrich even made reference to his tweets and his “crush” for Gomez. He said,
“I think she’s an extremely, extremely, extremely talented girl, and I’ve actually had a major crush on her since 2010. And I—my teenage self, like, said it in an interview as well so it’s kind of been this ongoing thing but then like obviously I put it out on Twitter, and I didn’t even realize that would catch like—that people would take that like seriously.

He continued,
“But yeah, I honestly think Selena Gomez is an extraordinary woman. What she stands for charity-wise, just being an activist, she just has a great heart. Her heart is in the right place. She loves Jesus. She loves God. She’s just like, she’s an angel, and I love her, but on top of that, I respect her musically and I want to make music with her. Okay? I want to make a song with her and put out a song.”
Despite the evidence piling up against Ehrich, Lovato has taken to her Instagram stories to refute the claims and allege that the tweets are “fake”.
Pointing out that people should be more concerned about actual issues, she brings up the fact that the people involved in the death of an emergency medical technician (EMT), Breonna Taylor, had yet to be apprehended while also saying that it’s time people start focusing on “what actually matters.”
However, following her response, fans are sharing their displeasure with Demi’s stories; they are now accusing her of using Breonna Taylor’s name inappropriately and merely to suit her needs.

As for any possible “conflict”, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Lovato admitted that her relationship with Gomez was almost non-existent, despite their years together on Disney. She shared,
“When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her, so it felt … I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”
As for her relationship with Ehrich – who she reportedly started dating not long after her split from model Austin Wilson – fans are calling for Lovato to “do better” by leaving him.

Lovato and Ehrich previously announced their engagement via social media posts on both individuals’ personal Instagram accounts. In July, the couple posted a series of images on the beach, showing both their affection for each other and new bling on Lovato’s finger.
