50 Cent Shaded Lil Nas X’s Halloween Look; His Clapback Is As Iconic As His Look

today2 November 2020

Background

Halloween 2020 has either been really quiet (what with COVID-19 putting a halt to most plans) or very, very outlandish (à la Cardi B as Medusa) but nevertheless, looks were served by some of our favourite celebrities. Amongst them (and really, taking the cake) is ‘Old Town Road’ rapper Lil Nas X.

Taking his adoration for Nicki Minaj to the next level, Lil Nas X recreated her iconic look from her 2011 music video, “Super Bass.” Not only did Nas nail the look, but he also blew fans away with the attention to detail. From the same two-toned pink and blond wig to the neon pink giraffe print bodysuit, the 21-year-old rapper even went as far as to ensure he had the right accessories AND THE ICE SCULPTED MOTORCYCLE.

Needless to say, fans were living for “Nas Maraj”, with new mom Iggy Azalea commenting…

“You win Halloween 2020!”

And Disney’s Skai Jackson popping by to squeal…

“NO YOU DID NOTTT.”

However, not everyone was happy. 45-year-old ‘Candy Shop’ rapper 50 Cent had his own opinion and called on the Queen herself, Nicki Minaj, to chide Lil Nas X’s choice of costume.

Lil Nas X (whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill) wasn’t going to let the tweet slide (after all the effort he put in to recreate Minaj’s iconic look? Nah-uh, honey.) and responded to the diss on Twitter in a now-deleted message, writing…

“Why u in barb business?”

He also tweeted…

“50 cent please stop making collages of me challenge.”

…before deleting it. Earlier this year, Lil Nas X admitted to being the admin of a fan account dedicated to the 37-year-old Trinidadian-American rapper under the account name “@nasmaraj”. While he denied initial rumours that he was behind the account while he was still an unknown figure, he eventually admitted to being a Barb (the name for Nicki Minaj’s fans) and running the account. Thus, it’s no surprise that the ‘Nasarati’ singer decided to pay tribute to one of his GOATs.
